PARIS, JUNE 3, 2016: (DGW) As the call for the restructuring of the
country continues, Arewa Consultative Forum has also lent its voice for
the immediate renegotiation of their status before Nigeria collapses.
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar had on Tuesday this week
advocated the restructuring of Nigeria to accelerate growth and
development of the federating units as the only antidote to the
ill-feelings of marginalization among the diverse elements and
components that make up the federation of Nigeria.
Meanwhile, while backing Atiku's call for an urgent restructuring of
the country, Arewa Consultative Forum through its National Secretary,
Ahmed Suleiman said renegotiating the union appears the only thing that
will set Nigeria on the right path.
His words: “We are calling for the restructuring of Nigeria because
that is the only thing that will set us on the right path. We think the
2014 confab report would provide ample guidance for the restructuring of
the country.”
